Art in the woods

In 2018, the Woodland Trust commissioned two pieces of natural sculpture for Skipton Castle Woods to celebrate the medieval origins of the wood as a larder and hunting ground for Skipton Castle.

The sculptures were based on a design brief from Woodland Trust interpreted by a Yorkshire-based artist.

The two sculptures have been enthusiastically adopted and admired by both the local community and visitors from as far as the USA, Japan and Australia thanks to social media.
